Atlas Mentorship LLC ("Atlas," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Atlas platform. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with its terms, please do not use the platform.
Because our platform serves users under the age of 18, we take our privacy obligations especially seriously. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Information You Provide Directly:
• Name, email address, and password when you create an account
• Academic background, school name, and graduation year
• Profile information, including bio, interests, and areas of focus
• Payment information (processed and stored by our third-party payment provider; we do not store full card details)
• Communications you send to us via support or contact forms
• Verification documents submitted by Mentors (e.g., admission letters, with sensitive identification numbers redacted at the Mentor's discretion)
Information Collected Automatically:
• Device type, browser type, and operating system
• IP address and approximate location
• Pages visited, time spent on the platform, and clickstream data
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)
Information from Third Parties:
If you sign in via a third-party service (e.g., Google), we may receive basic profile information from that service consistent with your privacy settings there.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
• Create and manage your account
• Facilitate matches between Mentees and Mentors
• Process payments and send transaction confirmations
• Send you session reminders, platform updates, and support communications
• Improve and personalize the platform experience
• Monitor for fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service
• Comply with applicable legal obligations
• Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
With Other Users: Profile information you make public (such as your name, school, and bio) is visible to other users on the platform. We do not share your contact information, payment details, or private messages with other users without your consent.
With Service Providers: We share information with trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating our platform, including payment processors, email delivery services, and hosting providers. These vendors are contractually obligated to protect your information and may only use it to perform services on our behalf.
For Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Atlas, our users, or the public.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and a prominent notice on our platform before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 60 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or compliance purposes.

You can control cookie settings through your browser. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the platform. We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, but we do not sell your data to third parties for advertising purposes.
8. Children's Privacy
Atlas allows users as young as 13 to register as Mentees, with parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us at support@atlasmentorship.com and we will promptly delete that information.
Parents or guardians of minor users may contact us at any time to review, correct, or request deletion of their child's personal information.
9. Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. These measures include encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS), access controls, and secure storage practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Atlas platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify registered users via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use of the platform after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
